Past Tense Verbs(과거시제동사) 

 

1. Past Tense Reular Verbs

---

Reular Verbs - Rule1

To make the past tense with most regular verbs, add -ed

• watch → watched
• play → played
• talk → taked
• start → started
• cook → cooked

 

Reular Verbs - Rule2

If a regular verb ends in e, just add -d

• like → liked
• close → closed
• smile → smiled
• race → raced
• care → cared

 

Reular Verbs - Rule3

If a regular verb ends in a consonant and -y, take off y and add -ied.

• cry → cried
• try → tried
• fry → fried
• study → studied
• worry → worried 

 

Reular Verbs - Rule4

If a regular verb ends in an single vowel and a single consonant, double the consonant and add -ed

• stop → stopped
• plan → planned
• clap → clapped
• fan → fanned
• zip → zipped

 

 

2. Past Tense Irregular Verbs

• go → went
• see → saw
• come → came
• read → read
• write → wrote
• meet → met
• eat → ate
• drink → drank
• buy → bought
• is → was
• make → made
• sleep → slept
• wear → wore
• win → won
• bring → brought
• catch → caught
• choose → chose

• fall → fell
• fight → fought
• fly → flew
• find → found
